VCM stands for Voces Cantabiles Music. The charity was founded in 2006 and has since worked with more than 150,000 young people. The annual programme of education work sees VOCES8 and Apollo5 work in partnership with Music Hubs, schools and other education organisations, providing teacher training, a unique Young Leaders programme, residencies with schools and communities in the UK, France and the USA, regular training events and singing celebration events at the Gresham Centre, collaborations with leading global performing arts centres such as BOZAR, Cite de la Musique, Tokyo Opera City and the National Centre for Performing Arts in Beijing.
VOCES8 and Apollo5 both work with publishing house Edition Peters, supporting contemporary composers and helping to develop new music for the choral music world.
The groups are regularly featured on international radio and television including Deutschlandradio Kultur, ARTE TV, Radio France Musique, MPR in the USA, BBC Radio 2, BBC Radio 3 and Classic FM. VOCES8 has won a host of international awards for performance and recording, including picking up 3 CARAs in 2013 for their recordings on Signum Classics. Eventide, released by Decca Classics in 2014, went to No. 1 in the UK Classical Chart, also reaching No. 5 in the US Classical Chart.
