Sarah is the chairman and CEO of Les Azuriales Opera which she founded in 1997. For 15 years it presented a summer festival of opera in Nice, South of France, and it continues to run a well-recognised Young Artists Programme with a fortnight‘s residency in Nice, a London showcase and ongoing financial and advisory support for young opera singers starting their professional careers. She has extensive experience in setting up and acting as chairman/non-executive board member of a number of music charities including Les Azuriales Opera Trust, Octandre Ensemble (supporting contemporary music), and SWAP’RA promoting best practice and practical solutions for parents and equal opportunities for women, in opera. She also has extensive knowledge of the current UK visa regulations affecting freelance artists and GDPR. Having qualified in 1971, Sarah practiced as a commercial barrister specialising in shipping and insurance law until 2004. She has an MSc in Business and Management from the London Business School. She is a keen skier and enjoys travel, birdwatching and all forms of music.
